Availability

We work closely with Forestry England and other site partners to make sure all visitors can enjoy Bedgebury safely.

Bedgebury is a busy public site used by school groups, Forest School sessions, Go Ape visitors, cyclists, walkers and other members of the public. To avoid overbooking and to help keep activities safe and enjoyable, availability for our team-building sessions is limited.

We recommend getting in touch early to discuss suitable dates for your visit.

The Activities

Team Tactics

Team Tactics is a series of short woodland challenges designed to test teamwork, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Activities include Crossing the Snake Pit, Communication Caterpillar, Mystery Spill Challenge, Barrow-Ball Relay and Towers of Hanoi. Each activity encourages pupils to work together, think creatively and support one another to complete the task.

Shelter Building Challenge

Bring out your inner engineer with our shelter-building challenge.

Working in teams and using natural materials, pupils will design and build sturdy woodland shelters. The shelters are then tested for strength and waterproofing, with points awarded for teamwork, design and performance.

Tree Detective Trail

The Tree Detective Trail is a map-reading and clue-solving challenge around Bedgebury National Pinetum.

Using simple maps and clues, pupils explore the Pinetum and learn more about its incredible collection of tree species while collecting points for their team.

Please note that our map-reading activities are aimed at children aged 7–14 and may be less suitable for older groups.
